Murti Sthapana (Installation of an idol) (08062023)

The post is regarding Murti Sthapana of Shri Moni Baba Vishno Dass ji who was an enlightened Himalayan saint, who left his physical body in the year 2009. He was called Moni Baba because he remained silent and had chosen not to speak for more than 30 years. He used to converse with his disciples through writing on diaries. Due to certain incident, he had taken pledge not to speak.

I had personally seen him being silent since 1971, till he left his physical body in 2009  i.e close to 40 years. During his last year he had started whispering sometimes- barely listenable tones. He was truly an Himalyan Saint, who had undergone the rigorous process of spiritual journey and had along the way achieved highest level of enlightenment. He never believed in advertising his divine powers, though he had resolved many problems, extremely difficult ones of his disciples. I will touch upon them in my subsequent writings. He was always addressed as Guru Ji (Religious preacher) by his disciples.

His Idol was installed on 08062023 in an Himalayan Village. The idol installation of a saint or God is an elaborate process in Hindu Culture. I will explain the process and happenings during the Idol installation in next post. Installation of an Idol involves immersing the Idol in different mediums like water, Honey, Milk, Flowers, Fruits etc. in a particular sequence. It is a 3-5 days process. The Idol is given life through different vedic rituals, Mantras and Yagya etc.

  1. Jai gurudev ji ki
Very good initiative. All the disciples of guru ji must have felt his Devine presence and powers at one stage or other . He was a true Himalayan Saint who lived for good of humankind. Even today we feel his presence and blessings.
